Past and present conductors of the band who have each made a significant contribution to its success over the last 50 years.

David Greig

David's appointment of head of brass when the music centre opened led to him forming the band in 1974. He played an active role in the development of brass players within the area.

Hilary Davan Wetton

Was appointed head of the Stantonbury Music Service in 1974, and conducted the band in some of the earlier contests.

Alan Jenkin

Alan took over as full time conductor in 1986, an experienced conductor, adjudicator and arranger he led the band to their first National Finals in 1996.

Major Ed Keeley

Following the renaming of the Band in April 2011 Ed conducted the inaugural concert of Olney Brass on the 15th July 2011.

Guy Bennett
Guy. a housemaster and Head of Brass at Bedford Boys School was appointed in 2014 to further the band's development .

Kevin Nicholls
Kevin brought his unique conducting style to the band when he took over in 2017 - he decided to pursue other things when the pandemic hit!

Philip Divine
Since joining the band trombonist and brass teacher Phil has already taken them to 2nd place at the Regionals and conducted two finals at Cheltenham. He is working with the band to achieve success in the 2nd Section.
